What is Wing Chun?
Wing Chun is a concept-based Chinese martial art and self defence form utilising both striking and grappling while specialising in close combat. Wing Chun emphasises practicality and efficiency in its techniques rather than brute strength. Wing Chun also focuses on proper balance and structure; a correct Wing Chun stance is like a piece of bamboo, firm but flexible, rooted but unyielding, and can be used to deflect or redirect external forces.
Who should learn Wing Chun?
If you wish to learn a practical close-combat martial art that is still rooted in tradition, Wing Chun is for you! Even if you are smaller in stature, do not fear! Legend has it that Wing Chun is actually named after a Chinese woman who learnt the martial art from a nun and even managed to defeat a warlord in actual combat while using her skills! Therefore, Wing Chun is suitable for students of all fitness levels and all age groups.
Where are the Wing Chun classes conducted?
Our Wing Chun lessons are conducted at our Fighter Fitness Singapore branch located at Pioneer (Jurong West) in the west side of Singapore.
Why should I learn Wing Chun in Fighter Fitness Singapore?
Our friendly English-speaking Wing Chun instructor Rae Tan is an avid martial arts lover who also trained in Taekwondo, Karate and Judo during his younger days. However, after picking up Wing Chun, he has dedicated himself to Wing Chun as he finds it to be the most practical and realistic martial art for self-defence. He has years of experience in teaching Wing Chun, and his Wing Chun lessons are practical and he always goes the extra mile to go through techniques for students to understand better.

Fighter Fitness Singapore’s Wing Chun program is also affiliated with the Wing Chun Kuen Training Centre, which was founded by Sifu Chua Kah Joo in 2000. Sifu Chua learnt Wing Chun Kuen from Sifu Joseph Cheng in the 1970s and was bestowed a lineage holder due to his great skill in Wing Chun. He has also founded the Wing Chun Martial Arts Academy in Stratham, London and in Maidenhead, UK.
During our Wing Chun classes, you will be taught first how to maintain a good body structure so as to deflect blows easily, while also attacking the center line of your opponent to gain maximum advantage. You will also be taught techniques to strike quickly and defend yourself from strikes in real life.
At Fighter Fitness Singapore, we also place a strong emphasis on safety in all our Wing Chun lessons. You will also be under supervision while doing sparring so as to prevent unnecessary injury.
